
BRENTWOOD, Tenn.– University of Tennessee at Martin cross country athlete Keagan Enicks has been named the second Ohio Valley Conference Male Freshman of the Year in program history after a stellar debut season.
Enicks joins his teammate Luke Johnson as the only two Skyhawks to be tabbed with the prestigious award. Enicks has been in the scoring five of all four meets while setting a personal best in three of the four competitions.
A native of Blue Springs, Mo., Enicks started his collegiate career with a 20th place finish and a time of 20:52.8 in the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic where UT Martin had a season-high second-place finish. He finished in a season-best eighth place in the next meet, running a 25:03.9 in the 8k which was shortly followed up by a PR in that same event during the Gans Creek Classic with a time of 24:46.1. The freshman wrapped up the regular season by leading the team in the Angel Mounds Invitational with a time of 24:53.7, earning him a 14th place finish.
Enicks and the Skyhawks will look to capture the school’s first OVC Championship on Friday, Nov. 1 in Martin, Tenn. The men’s 8k will begin at 10 a.m. at the Skyhawk Runway Trail.
