MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Nov. 2, the Union University Volleyball team swept Auburn-Montgomery in a quick match of 3-0 (25-15, 28-26, 25-23). With the win, the Lady Bulldogs record raises to 8-17 (6-10), and Auburn-Montgomery’s record falls to 8-16 overall (5-10).
The Lady Bulldogs came out of the gate swinging as they led in kills in the first set, 15 (0.481) to 9 (0.083). Although the Warhawks led the second set in kills, Union battled to close the set 28-26. With the ammunition from the first two sets, the Lady Bulldogs quickly closed out the match, swinging 0.389 to the Warhawks’ 0.247.
Senior Vanja Stefanovic took control of the match as she had a season high of 17 kills and a hitting percentage of 0.667. Both senior Hope Harrington and Marie Torosian racked up 9 kills. Ashley Pruitt and Abby Davis topped the assists category with 26 and 11, respectively.
Up next, the Lady Bulldogs will travel to Huntsville, Ala. for a match with the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Nov. 8 at 6:00 PM.
