WACO, Texas – Just six days after she was named Eastern College Athletic Conference Standout Student-Athlete of the Month, University of Tennessee at Martin graduate Bridget Vieau has also been crowned with the same Standout Student-Athlete of the Month accolade by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association.
Vieau becomes the first Skyhawk to win this prestigious award since Casey Ruggiero brought home the honor in February 2023.
The Syracuse, NY native has been a constant in the UT Martin equestrian program since joining as a student-athlete in the fall of 2020. In the last three seasons alone, Vieau has made 19 starts in flat while also making two starts in fences during the 2023-24 campaign. She has managed four flat victories over nationally ranked squads in the last two years, including a career-best 94-point effort against No. 5 Oklahoma State on Oct. 19, 2024 which led to her first career MOP medal and an ECAC Rider of the Week accolade.
Outside of the arena, Vieau graduated with a degree in management and is actively pursuing a Master’s degree in business administration. She has spent this season as a graduate assistant on the Skyhawk coaching staff while also teaching a beginner horsemanship class on campus. She is a four-time Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient, three-time NCEA All-Academic honoree and has additionally appeared on the UT Martin Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in eight consecutive semesters.
