
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – On Nov. 9, the Union University women’s cross-country team finished 11th at the NCAA D2 South Region Championships with a time of 2:02:49. The 6k event took place at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala., and featured 15 teams.
Union was led by Victoria Markham and Addi Aguayo, who placed 20th (22:37.95) and 24th (22:50.28), respectively. Sophie Crisler finished 84th (25:22.75), Cami Haas 91st (25:48:20), Mila Bunton 93rd (26:10.00), Heidi Munday 107th (29:41.81).
Lee University’s Aria Hawkins won the meet with a time of 20:32.25. Lee also finished first as a team, followed by Tampa in second, Nova Southeastern in third, Alabama-Huntsville in fourth, and Florida Southern in fifth to round out the top five.
This was the last race of the fall season for the Lady Bulldogs. Their best finish was at the Watson Collegiate Classic where they placed third. They also finished fifth at the Gulf South Conference Championships where Markham earned First Team All-Conference honors for her ninth place finish and Aguayo was named Second Team All-Conference for her 11th place finish.
