
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – On Nov. 15, the Union University women’s soccer team made it first appearance in the Gulf South Conference semifinals since joining the GSC in 2012. Union faced the University of Montevallo and lost 5-0. The loss brings Union’s overall record to 10-5-2 and Montevallo’s overall record to 12-4-3.
The Falcons dominated the match, scoring two goals in the first half and three in the second to punch their ticket to the GSC Finals on Sunday afternoon. Montevallo led in shots, shots on goal, and corner kicks with 18, nine, and two, respectively. Union topped the saves column 4-3.
Lucia Revuelto, who was named Second Team All-GSC, had four of Union’s shots, including two on goal. Claire Maxon and Rivers Abshere added two shots each, while Rebekah Jackson, Madison Woolridge, Lilly Ludwig, and Rachel Shane had one apiece with Woolridge’s being on goal. Kirsten LaVallee played all ninety minutes in goal with four saves.
