
MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball hung with Central Arkansas for most of Saturday’s game, but a 19-9 fourth quarter pushed the Sugar Bears past the Skyhawks, 87-67, at the Elam Center.
The Sugar Bears were hot from start to finish Saturday shooting a blistering 58.6-percent from the floor and 42.9 -percent from 3-point range, compared to 35.4-percent and 29.4-percent, respectively. However, at the charity stripe, UT Martin turned in their best performance of the season, going 16-for-20 for 80.0-percent.
Four Skyhawks reached double-digits Saturday night led by 15 from Anaya Brown, who also led the team in rebounds with six. Daejah Richmond followed with 13 points, including a 5-for-5 performance at the free throw line, while Kenley McCarn and Lexi Rubel added 12 and 10, respectively. Shae Littleford had a game-high five assits, to go along with six points and three steals
The Skyhawks will return to action Tuesday when they host their annual Education Day game against Missouri State. Tip-off from the Elam Center is scheduled for 11 a.m.
