
ATLANTA, Ga. — Lane College’s Chantoryia Rivers has been named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Player of the Week after an outstanding performance in three games last week. Rivers was instrumental in leading the Dragons to victories over Allen and Blue Mountain, showcasing her all-around skills.
The senior forward from Plaquemine, La. delivered impressive statistics across the three contests, scoring in double digits in each game. Rivers opened the week with 11 points and three rebounds in a crucial conference win over Allen. She followed up with a stellar 16-point, 10-rebound performance in Lane’s victory over Blue Mountain. Rivers capped off her week with another 16-point, 10-rebound outing in the game against Trevecca.
For the week, Rivers averaged 14.3 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game, including two double-doubles. Her consistent scoring and rebounding efforts were key factors in Lane’s success during the week, earning her the prestigious SIAC Player of the Week honor.
