BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Junior Ashtyn Green of the University of Tennessee at Martin softball team was named as the first Pitcher of the Week for the 2025 season, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Green went 2-0 on opening weekend with a 1.70 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP and 11 strikeouts. In the opener against South Carolina State, Green went 4.0 innings and allowed no runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. In the finale against Stonehill, she tossed a 5.0 inning complete game in which she gave up no runs on six hits with three strikeouts. She struck out a total of 11 batters on the weekend, while walking only one.
This weekend, UT Martin will open its 2025 home campaign when it hosts the 2025 Skyhawk Classic at Bettye Giles Field. The event will feature 11 games over three days and include DePaul, Murray State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Western Michigan and the Skyhawks.
