Union Men’s Golf Finishes 10th At Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. –– The Union University men’s golf team posted a 10th-place finish at The Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate on Tuesday, while Trace Robinson finished seventh at four-under.

Union turned in team scores of 289 (+1), 303 (+15), and 297 (+9), finishing 25-over-par.

The three-round, par-72 event at St. John’s Golf & Country Club, featuring 19 teams, was won by hosts Lincoln Memorial at 14-under.

Robinson finished with 12 birdies, tied for fifth in the field, including five in a span of seven holes in round one. No competitor had a better opening round than Robinson’s four-under.

Other Union participants included Gray Campbell (T-30, +4), Timothy Pinkston (T-35, +5), Matthew Westmoreland (93, +25), and Jack-Henry Wise (T-95, +30).

Campbell’s two-under opening session and one-under final rounds from Robinson and Pinkston constituted the other Union rounds under par.

Georgia Southwestern State’s Felipe Gomez (-11) won the event by three strokes over Lincoln Memorial’s George Durkan and Wingate’s Brandon Skidmore.

Union will next take to the course on March 10 and 11 in an invitational hosted by Valdosta State.
