Henry County High School announced on Friday that new Head Football Coach J.R. Kirby has resigned.
The news comes abruptly after Henry County announced the hiring of Kirby away from Covington on January 21.
Principal Michelle Webb said regarding the news, “While this change comes unexpectedly, our commitment to our student-athletes and football program remains strong. We had an exceptional pool of candidates during the hiring process. Our administration is actively working to fill the position as soon as possible.” Webb said Henry County players, their families, and the community would be informed when a new coach was named.
