BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Union’s Olivia Lee has earned the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week Award presented by Truist as a result of her performance during the week of Feb. 10-16.  This is Lee’s first career GSC Player of the Week honor after winning GSC Freshman of the Week three times last season. Lee is the second Union women’s basketball player to win a Player of the Week award this season with Bethany Dillard winning on Dec. 17.

Lee, a 6-foot guard from Jackson, Tenn., started both games for Union last week, averaging 22.5 points and 5.5 rebounds. On Feb. 13 in the win against the University of West Alabama, she led Union in both points and boards with 21 and eight, respectively. She also dished out three assists. On Feb. 15 in the victory against UAH, Lee once again led Union in scoring. In just 18 minutes of play, she put up 24 points, a career high for her.

Up next, Lee and the Lady Bulldogs return home to face the University of West Florida on Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
