Union Women’s Basketball Coach Mark Campbell Named GSC Coach of The Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Union University’s Mark Campbell has been named the GSC Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 season. This is the sixth time he has earned this award.

Campbell is in his 26th season at the helm of the Union women’s basketball program. This year, he led the Lady Bulldogs to their 10th GSC regular season title with an overall record of 26-3 (21-1 GSC). The team topped all teams in Division II with 11.8 three-pointers per game and were third in scoring offense with 84.9 points per game. Campbell also earned his 750th career win on Dec. 13 at Christian Brothers University.

On Tuesday night, Union won against the University of Montevallo 87-38 in the quarterfinal round of the Truist GSC Championship, meaning they are headed to Birmingham to face the University of West Florida in the semifinals on Mar. 8 at 12:00 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
