BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the second time in their careers, Anaya Brown and Kenley McCarn of the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team have earned All-Ohio Valley Conference accolades, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon after a vote of the league’s head coaches and sports information directors. Brown was named first-team All-OVC, while McCarn was named to the second team.

Brown earned her second consecutive first-team accolade by leading UT Martin in both points and rebounds on the season with 15.4 and 5.8, respectively, with her scoring average ranking third in the OVC. In January, Brown became the Skyhawks’ 18th member of the 1,000-point club and the third player in school history to tally 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 100 blocks, along with Chelsey Perry and Mary Kate Long.

Brown notched six double-doubles on the year, had eight 20-plus point performances, and reached double-digits in 25 of 31 contests. The junior set two new career marks during the season, scoring a personal best 29 points on Feb. 20 against Tennessee State and tallied a career-best five blocks on Feb. 18 at Tennessee Tech, then again on Feb. 27 against Southern Indiana.

McCarn currently averages 13.8 points per game, the seventh-best average in the league, while also sporting the team’s top free throw percentage at 93.8 (60-64). In February, she became the 19th member of UT Martin’s 1,000-point club. She is the fourth sophomore in school history to achieve the feat, joining Heather Butler, Ashia Jones, and Jasmine Newsome in reaching the milestone in their second season. McCarn reached double digits in 24 of 31 games this season and scored 20 or more points on seven occasions.

With this year’s accolades, the Skyhawks have had 44 All-OVC selections under head coach Kevin McMillan, including 20 first-team honorees.

On Wednesday, Brown, McCarn, and the rest of the Skyhawks will open play in the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship as the sixth seed against seventh-seeded Western Illinois at 3 p.m., at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
