Lane Men’s Basketball’s Elijah Greer Dawson Named SIAC Newcomer of the Year

ATLANTA, Ga. – Elijah Greer Dawson, a junior guard from Detroit, MI, has been named the 2024-2025 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Newcomer of the Year, marking a significant achievement in his first season with the team. Greer Dawson’s impressive performance throughout the season has made him one of the most outstanding players in the conference.

In 18 games this season, Greer Dawson averaged 30.1 minutes per game. He posted an impressive 16.8 points per game, totaling 303 points. His shooting accuracy was exceptional, with a field goal percentage of .444, including 107 field goals made on 241 attempts. He also contributed from beyond the arc, hitting 6 of 21 three-pointers (.286), while making 83 of 108 free throws for a free throw percentage of .769.

Greer Dawson’s all-around contributions helped anchor his team’s performance, as he averaged 4.1 rebounds per game, totaling 73 rebounds. In addition, he posted solid numbers in assists (57), steals (39), and blocks (6). His steals per game ranked first in the SIAC this year while his assists were good for sixth best in the league.
