Lane Women’s Basketball’s Dyani Bernstine and Chantoryia Rivers Named To All-SIAC Team

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its 2024-25 Women’s Basketball All-SIAC teams and individual honorees on Wednesday, as voted by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors. Dyani Bernstine and Chantoryia Rivers were named all-conference.

Bernstine appeared in 24 games and started 19, playing an average of 26.5 minutes per game. She scored 263 total points, averaging 11.0 points per game, and contributed significantly in various aspects of the game. The dynamic guard was a steady presence at the free-throw line, making 100 of her 148 attempts. She was second in the SIAC in free throw attempts and third in made free throws. Her 73 assists were good for fourth best in the conference.

The sophomore guard from Richmond, Calif. was also a strong force on the boards, grabbing 165 total rebounds, averaging 6.9 per game. Defensively, she added 71 steals which was good for second best in the league while adding 22 blocks to her resume.

Over the course of the season, Rivers played in 25 games, starting in 23 of them. Averaging 26.6 minutes per game, she was a consistent presence for her team. Rivers recorded 280 points with an average of 11.2 points per game. Her field goal percentage was a strong .449, with 109 successful field goals out of 243 attempts.

Rivers also contributed on the defensive end, pulling down 198 total rebounds (7.9 per game), with 74 offensive and 124 defensive rebounds. She showed her ability to facilitate the offense, dishing out 21 assists. Rivers also recorded 31 steals and 14 blocks over the course of the season, showcasing her all-around game and defensive prowess. She recorded nine double-doubles which was second most in the SIAC this season.
