JACKSON, Tenn. – On Mar. 21 and 22, the Union University softball team dropped a three-game series to the University of West Florida. The Argos won all three games by scores of 10-1, 11-2, and 2-0, respectively. Games one and two ended in six innings due to run rule. After the weekend, Union falls to 7-25 overall (5-14 GSC), while West Florida improves to 21-8 overall (14-4 GSC).
Camryn Langley went 3-9 in the series and 1-3 in each game, scoring a run in game one. Denise Pauletich hit 3-7 with a double and an RBI.
Emily Claire Felder had a good weekend in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs as she pitched two innings in relief in game one and the full seven innings of game three. In nine innings of work, she struck out eight hitters and allowed five runs on eight hits and one walk.
Up next, the Lady Bulldogs will travel to Livingston, Ala., for a three-game set with the University of West Alabama. The teams will play a doubleheader on Mar. 29 with first pitch of game one scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
