MARTIN, TENN. – Forever Communications and the Sports731 Network are proud to announce Jared Davidson and Daniel Scates as the official broadcast team for Westview Chargers football during the 2026 high school football season.
Davidson returns for play-by-play duties in his fifth season covering Westview football and his third season with the Sports731 Network. A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, Davidson earned numerous broadcasting honors while working at WUTM 90.3 The Hawk. His familiarity with the Chargers program and passion for local athletics have made him a familiar voice for Westview fans.
Joining Davidson in the booth is one of the most respected names in West Tennessee athletics, Daniel Scates.
Scates will provide analysis bringing decades of experience and an unmatched knowledge of Westview athletics. He spent 34 years coaching football, including 31 seasons at Westview, while also serving as the Chargers’ primary football statistician for the past 22 seasons. In addition, he has been the basketball bookkeeper for 31 years and coached Westview boys soccer for 21 seasons.
Beyond coaching, Scates officiated high school sports for 12 years and brings 16 years of broadcasting experience covering both high school and college athletics. His involvement in Westview athletics dates back to 1967, and he has coached or kept statistics for six state championship teams and five state runner-up squads during his remarkable career. Scates will continue in the statistician role while providing analysis.
Together, Davidson and Scates will lead coverage of Westview football this fall as part of Forever Communications and the Sports731 Network’s continued mission to showcase West Tennessee athletics.
