HUNTINGDON, TENN. – Forever Communications and the Sports731 Network are proud to announce Brian Groom and Jimmy Pritchard are returning as the official broadcast team for Huntingdon Mustangs football during the 2026 high school football season.
Groom will handle play-by-play duties and brings more than two decades of experience covering Huntingdon athletics. A Huntingdon graduate, Groom has been part of the Mustangs’ broadcast team in some capacity since 2004, serving as a color analyst before taking over play-by-play responsibilities in 2019 for football, basketball, baseball, and softball.
During his broadcasting career, Groom has called some of the biggest moments in Huntingdon sports history, including the Mustangs’ 2025 TSSAA football state championship victory and the Huntingdon girls’ 2026 state basketball championship. He has also worked the Mustangs’ state football championship appearances in 2004, 2012, and 2025, along with numerous TSSAA state tournament baseball games, including the 2025 state championship, and several girls’ basketball state tournament contests. In addition to game broadcasts, Groom has co-hosted the Saturday Morning Mustang Football Show for several years.
Pritchard returns as the color commentator after joining the broadcast booth in 2019. A former Mustang standout, he was a member of Huntingdon’s undefeated 1966 football team before beginning a long and successful coaching career at his alma mater.
As Huntingdon’s defensive coordinator, Pritchard helped guide the Mustangs to the 2003 TSSAA state championship while also coaching the 1999 and 2004 state runner-up teams. He spent many years as a teacher and coach at Huntingdon High School and has also co-hosted the Saturday Morning Mustang Football Show alongside Groom.
Together, Groom and Pritchard will lead coverage of Huntingdon football this fall as part of Forever Communications and the Sports731 Network’s continued mission to showcase West Tennessee athletics.
