– After a defensive 1st half, the Hawks took a 10-0 lead into the locker room, before South Side used 26 straight points in the 2nd half to win their 2nd straight. Chuck Stokes rushed for 50 yards and a score, while racking up 111 receiving yards and 2 TDs. Rakarius Lacy added 83 yards, while Layton Robertson completed 7 of his 9 passes for 180 yards and 4 touchdown passes. The win lifted the Hawks to 2-0 in the JMCSS Commissioner’s Cup Race.

– The Tigers continued to roll in their region opener as they cruised to their 3rd straight home win over shorthanded South Gibson. Carter Smith threw for 4 TDs with 3 going to Ryan Weaks, and 2 more coming on the ground from Jake Saunders. Cade Allen threw for 95 yards and a score in place of the injured Heath Howe.

– Jackson Christian remained undefeated as the Eagles rallied from an early deficit to knock off Goodpasture on the road. The Eagles used a strong ground game to carry the load as Deuce Lawrence scored 1 TD on 105 yards rushing and Easton Jones added 83 yards and 2 TDs

– Meeting for the first time in 11 years, Milan jumped up on the visiting Pioneers 28-6 at halftime and never looked back. The Bulldogs found success through the air and on the ground racking up 356 yards of total offense. Will Johnson completed 12 passes for 191 yards and 4 TDs, while Carmelo Jones rushed for 55 yards and another score to guide Milan to a win in their region opener.

– Ripley jumped ahead early, but held on for dear life as Carson Howell led a Bolivar rally that came up 7 points short. Howell put on a spectacular display with 525 total yards and 5 total TDs.

– The Panthers used their trademark physicality to run past Peabody on the road in their region opener. Stone Wallace rushed for 119 yards and 2 TDs, while Desmond Thomas added 94 yards and 3 more rushing scores.

Union City 20, Dyer County 7
– The Golden Tornadoes picked up their first win of the season behind Keaten Brown’s 146 yards rushing and stingy defensive effort. Adrian Crawford’s 81 yard interception return for a TD aided the Union City cause.
USJ 28, Trinity Christian 19
– Noah Spencer continued his red-hot start to the season with 220 yards rushing and 2 scores as USJ improved to 3-0 on the season. Corbin Howard added 188 yards passing and a score as USJ defeated their private school rivals.

– Miles Vincent guided a balanced offensive attack for the Chargers, as Westview shutout visiting Scotts Hill to open region play with a win. Vincent threw for 150 yards and 3 TDs as Westview snapped a 2-game skid to open the season.
