Union Women’s Cross Country Finishes 2nd At Rhodes College Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Union University women’s cross country team raced to a second place finish at the Rhodes College Invitational Saturday morning. The 5K event took place at Shelby Farms and featured 12 teams with 108 runners.

Union was the top NCAA D2 School to finish in the race as D1 Arkansas State won the event. All five of Union’s counting runners put up top-20 point scores.

Freshman Victoria Markham led Union with a ninth place finish and a time of 19:19. Addi Aguayo finished 11th (19:25), Ayla Young 17th (19:47), Mary Scott Tritt 18th (19:47), and Sydney Meadows 19th (19:52) to round out the top five for Union. Lindsey Dismuke finished 45th (21:25), Cami Haas 58th (23:15), and Holly Blackwood did not finish for the ladies.

Up next for Union will be the Chili Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas September 29 in Fayetteville.
