UT Martin Cross Country Sets Multiple New PRs at Lou Cross Country Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The University of Tennessee at Martin cross country team faced some sweltering temperatures but competed well in the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic with the men’s team finishing 16th and the women’s team placing 24th.

The men’s team was led by Sam Shuman who set a new personal record of 25:09.3 in the 8k while finishing 17th. Shuman was followed by sophomore Luke Johnson (25:19.1) who finished 26th in the meet. Junior Hudson Hall (26:12.6), freshman Angus Monro (26:23.2) and junior Brady Millikin (26:51.2) finished out the scoring five for the Skyhawks.

The women’s team saw Brooke Skoog (18:43.4) and Gabby Brown (20:23.0) set new PRs in the 5k race while Skoog finished 35th in the race. Sophomore Maggie Roy (19:15.7), junior Lydia Tankersley (19:56.0) and junior Rita Eimer (20:03.1) finished strong in the second to last event of the regular season.

Next up, UT Martin will hit the course at the Angel Mounds Invitational in Evansville, Indiana on Friday, Oct. 13th.
