Union Women’s Cross Country Posts Historical Time at Charger Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Union University women’s cross country team posted a 15th place finish at the University of Alabama in Huntsville Charger Invitational. The event took place at John Hunt Park and featured 41 teams with 355 runners.

Union’s team time of 1:35:29 was the fourth best time in program history for the ladies. UNion’s Ayla Young (7th best all-time) and Addi Aguayo (20th best all-time) both post times among the programs best.

Union was led by by Young in 41st place with a time of 18:29. Aguayo finished 65th with a time of 18:51, while Victoria Markham was also in the top-100 in 78th place with a time of 18:59. Markham is the reigning GSC Freshman of the Week.

Mary Scott Tritt finished 110 (19:25), Sydnee Meadows finished 135 (19:43), Lindsey Dismuke finished 195 (20:35), Holly Blackwood finished 236 (21:25), and Cami Haas finished 254 (21:49).

Up next for the Union women’s team will be a return trip to John Hunt Park in Huntsville for the GSC Championships, October 21.
