BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball standout Kenley McCarn was rewarded for her strong play over the previous week by being named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for the third time in her career.

A redshirt-freshman from Melbourne, Ark., McCarn has been a force for the Skyhawks recently after averaging 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game last week. The combo guard was also efficient from the field, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 60 percent from beyond the arc.

McCarn began the week by scoring a game-high 19 points on the road against Murray State while adding four rebounds and two assists. Then a few days later, she posted arguably the most complete game of her young career by flirting with a double-double while tallying 23 points, nine assists, six steals and four rebounds in the team’s win over Evansville.

After claiming a pair of OVC Freshman of the Week honors before suffering a season-ending injury last season, McCarn claimed her third freshman of the week nod. Overall, she leads the team in scoring and has eclipsed double figures in nine of her 11 career games.
