MARTIN, Tenn. – More postseason honors have trickled in, and the defending Big South-OVC Football Association champion University of Tennessee at Martin football team is all over it as 19 players garnered all-conference honors by Phil Steele.
Headlining the honors was All-American running back Sam Franklin being tabbed Big South-OVC Offensive Player of the Year while All-American defensive end Daylan Dotson was selected as the publication’s Big South-OVC Defensive Player of the Year. Mirroring the league’s postseason honors, consensus All-American pick Aidan Laros was honored as the Big South-OVC Special Teams Player of the Year.
UT Martin had seven players earn all-conference first team honors. The offensive unit was represented by Franklin, offensive tackle Gavin Olson, offensive tackle Lamar Morgan and offensive guard Drake Carroll. Defensively the squad was headlined by Dotson along with defensive back Oshae Baker and Laros at punter.
Earned a spot on the second team was quarterback Kinkead Dent, wide receiver DeVonte Tanksley, offensive guard Josiah Tingley, outside linebacker Giovanni Davis, linebacker Jaylon Sharpe, defensive back JaMichael McGoy, Jr. and kick returner Narkel LeFlore.
The third team honored LeFlore once again as both a running back and all-purpose performer while center Vance Van Every also earned a third team selection. The squads were rounded out with fourth team selections for wide receiver Zoe Roberts, defensive back Josh Hastings, defensive back Carson Evans, Laros as a place kicker and long snapper Colton Peoples.
