Lane Women’s Basketball Knocks Off Tuskegee

JACKSON, Tenn. – Breonna Carey and Brailyn Tate combined for 39 points on Monday night as the Dragons overcame a seven point halftime deficit to defeat Tuskegee, 72-60.

Trailing at the half, the Lane defense cranked up the heat on the Golden Tigers, holding the visitors to seven points in the third quarter and nine points in the fourth.

Meanwhile, the hosts shot 54% from the field in the second half and scored 35 points.

Lane dominated the paint in the victory, outscoring Tuskegee 38-18. The Dragons also outpaced their opponent 16-2 in fast break points.

Tate led the way with 21 points and eight rebounds while Carey added 18 points for the Dragons.

Lane will be at home on Saturday, January 27th, when they host rival LeMoyne-Owen. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
