
JACKSON, Tenn. – On Feb. 8, the Union University men’s basketball team defeated the University of West Florida 79-73. The Bulldogs are now 11-10 overall (8-9 GSC), while the Argos are 6-15 overall (4-13 GSC).
Ahmad Johnson led Union with 27 points. He also contributed six rebounds. Union led 37-26 at halftime and scored 42 points in the second half to seal the victory.
Three other Bulldogs had double-digit points, including Devaki Garr with 18, Jordan Pyke with 15, and Jeremiah Littlepage with 11. Pyke also led in rebounds with 10, and Littlepage had the most assists for Union with four.
Union shot 42.9 percent (27-63) from the field, 40.7 percent (11-27) from three-point range, and 77.8 percent (14-18) from the free throw line.
Tautvydas Kupstas led West Florida with 16 points. The Argos shot 35.9 percent (23-64) from the field, 27.8 percent (5-18) from three-point range, and 78.6 (22-28) from the free throw line.
