
JACKSON, Tenn. – Shanique Lucas of the Union University women’s basketball team earned Gulf South Conference Player of the Week following her 32-point performance over Auburn University in Montgomery.
Lucas led Union to a perfect 2-0 record for the week with averages of 24 points on 61% shooting, four rebounds, and four steals per game. In the 86-79 triumph against Auburn Montgomery, the graduate student delivered a season-high 32 points on 62% shooting while securing six rebounds. Lucas also finished with a game-high 4 steals in the overtime victory.
Up next for Lucas and the Lady Bulldogs is a two-game road trip to Alabama. The Lady Bulldogs will take on the likes of the University of Alabama at Huntsville on Thursday, Feb. 22 before heading to Livingston to take on the University of West Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 24.
