Lake County High School didn’t have to look far to find their new head football coach. In fact, they didn’t have to look outside the Falcon Family.
On Friday, Offensive Coordinator Hunter Short was named the 16th Head Coach in the history of the program. Short is very familiar with the Falcon program, serving as Offensive Coordinator on his predecessor, Jonathan Canada’s staff from 2022-24, and serving as an assistant from 2014-2020 under Head Coach Josh Puckett.
Short also has experience away from Tiptonville, including a short stint as an assistant at Shelbyville Central from 2020-22, and playing his prep ball at nearby Obion County Central High School before going on to study at UT Martin.
Short will take his Falcons to his alma mater for the 2024 season opener on August 23 at Obion County Central.
