UT Martin Women’s Basketball Adds Daejah Richmond To 2024 Signing Class

MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball head coach Kevin McMillan has announced the addition of Southeast Missouri transfer Daejah Richmond to the program’s 2024 signing class.

“Daejah is an explosive guard that brings a lot of speed to our back court,” McMillan said. “She is a great kid, from a great family and we are excited to get back into the Memphis area where he have had a lot of successful players become Skyhawks.”

Richmond joins the Skyhawks after spending one season at Southeast Missouri where she played in all 29 games – including recording five starts for the Redhawks – in her freshman campaign. The point guard averaged 5.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 16.8 minutes per game. She shot 38.9 percent from the floor while knocking down 31.6 percent of her three-point attempts. She reached double figures in the scoring column in nine contests – including a season-high 16 points against Missouri State – while also recording 15 points against Purdue. Against the Skyhawks this season, she chipped in 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

Prior to her collegiate career, she prepped at First Assembly Christian School where she was a first team all-district honoree as a junior. She played for head coach Jeremy Moore at First Assembly Christian School while also competing for Team Real Deal on the club circuit for WNBA champion and Memphis basketball legend Ashley Shields.

Richmond joins two other commitments including Taylor Scohy (Bellbrook, Ohio) and Yar Tong (Calgary, Alberta) from the early signing period back in November.
