
MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball head coach Kevin McMillan has announced the addition of Southeast Missouri transfer Abbigail Stephens to the program’s 2024 signing class.
“We are excited about adding Abbigail to our program,” McMillan said. “Abbi is a versatile four who brings experience to our front court. She has shown the ability to shoot the ball well and is a great competitor with a high basketball IQ.”

Stephens joins the Skyhawks for her third Division I stop after spending two seasons at Purdue Fort Wayne and one at Southeast Missouri. During her 2023-24 campaign at Southeast Missouri, she appeared in 27 games while earning three starts for the Redhawks. She averaged 3.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game while adding 10 steals and three blocks. Her best game came against Morehead State when she posted career-highs with 16 points and 11 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double. She also flirted with another double-double earlier in the season when she tallied eight points and seven rebounds at Indiana State.
Prior to her time with the Redhawks, she spent two seasons at Purdue Fort Wayne where she scored 81 points and recorded 47 rebounds during her tenure. Her sophomore year in 2022-23, she tallied 2.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game while seeing action in 20 contests. She recorded a season-best 14 points against Youngstown State while notching four rebounds against Oakland. During her freshman campaign in 2021-22, she averaged 1.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 22 contests. Her best game of her freshman season came against Milwaukee when she tossed in 13 points while also adding six rebounds against Notre Dame.
Stephens finished her prep career at Archbishop Hoban where she helped the team to a 19-4 record and a Division I Sectional title as senior. She began her prep career at Lake High School where she played three seasons and accumulated 620 points, 408 rebounds and 95 assists for her career. She capped off her junior season with 14 points and nine rebounds per game on the way to All-Federal League honors.
She joins a loaded 2024 recruiting class which features five other commitments from Kayana Armbrister (Florida Atlantic), Kaitlyn McCarn (Mountain View HS), Daejah Richmond (Southeast Missouri), Taylor Scohy (Bellbrook HS) and Yar Tong (Edge Prep).
