
MARTIN, Tenn.– In its first home meet since 2021, the University of Tennessee at Martin cross country teams set numerous personal bests on a rainy day at Graham Park in Union City, Tenn.
The women’s team started the day with a fifth place finish and three athletes in the top-15 while the men’s team finished third and had two top-10 finishers.
Freshman Reese Settle led the Skyhawks in the 6k with a PR of 22:28.6 which landed her in 10th place. Maggie Roy crossed the finish line at 22:29.2 which was good enough for 11th and Danielle Mudd recorded a new PR (22:32.6) along with a 14th place finish. Gabby Brown (24:29.6) and Rita Eimer (24:41.8) rounded out the scoring five for UT Martin.
Luke Johnson paced the Skyhawks with a sixth place finish and a time of 24:56.2. Keagan Enicks finished in eighth by notching a new PR (25:03.9) in the 8k and Angus Monro crossed the finish line in 11th with a time of 25:25.0. Ben Ruscoe (26:13.7) and Ethan Brinkley (26:30.0, PR) helped UT Martin earn their second top-five team finish of the season.
The Skyhawks will be back on the course at the Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 27 in Columbia, Mo.
