JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University volleyball team hosted the second Union University Volleyball Classic of the season on Sep. 13 and 14. The Lady Bulldogs went 1-3 in the tournament, winning against Edward Waters University 3-0 and falling to Southern Arkansas University 0-3, Southwest Baptist University 1-3, and Ouachita Baptist University 1-3.
Ashley Pruitt passed 500 career assists and led Union in that category with 132 total for the tournament. Dylan Tolliver led the team in service aces and digs with eight and 51, respectively. Reese Owens had the most kills with 37, followed closely by Marie Torosian with 36. Jordan Moore led in blocks with nine.
Up next, the Lady Bulldogs travel to play the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Sep. 20 at 4:00 p.m. in Monticello, Ark.
The Gulf South Conference opener for Union will be at home against Trevecca Nazarene University on Sep. 24 at 6:00 p.m.
