
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Union University men’s golf freshman Matthew Westmoreland finished T5 in the Shark Invitational, which featured 12 teams and was hosted by Nova Southeastern at the Grand Oaks Golf Club. This was Westmoreland’s first collegiate tournament.
Westmoreland shot 209 (71, 68, 70) for the tournament and finished four under par. He tied for fifth with Joonho Kim from Embry-Riddle.
Gray Campbell finished T19 after shooting 214 (+1). Trace Robinson was T21 with a score of 215 (+2). Kip Patterson shot 237 (+24) and ended the tournament 61st. Will Brown rounded out the field for Union, finishing 63rd with a score of 155 (N/A).
Embry-Riddle won the tournament, followed by Flagler, Nova Southeastern, Barry, and Nova Southeastern (B) to round out the top five. Union finished in twelfth place.
Up next, the Bulldogs travel to ChampionsGate, Fla., to compete in the Citrus Intercollegiate on Oct. 28 and 29 at the ChampionsGate Golf Club, International.
