Union Women’s Cross Country Finishes 3rd At Watson Collegiate Classic

CLINTON, Miss. – Union women’s cross country finished third of 23 teams in the Watson Collegiate Classic, a 6,000-meter event hosted by Mississippi College on Friday morning.

Victoria Markham and Addi Aguayo placed third and fourth, pacing Union with times of 22:45 and 22:58, seconds behind TAMU-Commerce’s Anete Randma, who won the event at 22:23.

Just behind Union’s sophomores came Mary Scott Tritt (23:33 – 13th) and Ayla Young (24:19 – 26th).

Freshman Mia Bunton was Union’s final scoring runner with a mark of 25:03, while Cami Haas (25:24) and Sophie Crisler (26:55) rounded out the Union delegation.

McMurry University won the event, while host Mississippi College, the only other GSC team in the field, finished sixth.

Next, the Lady Bulldogs will compete at the GSC Championship on October 26. The event, hosted by Mississippi College, will take place on the same course as Friday’s race.
