ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – On Feb. 10-11, the Union University women’s golf team opened their spring season in the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial University at the GC at South Hampton in St. Augustine, Fla. The tournament featured 17 teams and 89 golfers.
Olivia Carroll and Brooklyn Verdugo both tied for 46th place, shooting 238 overall and finishing 22 over par. Abigail Fernandez finished in 54th after shooting 240 (+24). Camille Burnette was T57 with a score of 242 (+26). Cecily Berry rounded out the field for Union, finishing T66 with a score of 245 (+29).
Wingate won the competition, followed by Palm Beach Atlantic, Rogers State, Barry, and North Georgia to round out the top five. The Lady Bulldogs placed 11th in the tournament, narrowly missing a spot in the top 10.
Up next, Union will travel to Charleston, S.C., to compete in the Low Tide Intercollegiate hosted by Limestone University at the Dunes West Golf Club on Feb. 24-25.
